KOSAN to distribute improved school uniforms next year – Jainab

KOTA KINABALU: Koperasi Serbaguna Sanya Berhad (KOSAN) will be distributing its newly-improved school uniforms to government primary schools Statewide, beginning January next year.

Disclosing this yesterday, Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid said that students of government primary schools across Sabah would be receiving a set of the improved quality school uniforms and another set of the existing quality, for 2015.

KOSAN, she added, would also be improving the quality of its school shoes to be on par with that of those sold in supermarkets, and was expected to distribute them to government primary schools in 2016.

KOSAN, chaired by Minister of Youth and Sports Sabah, Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan, provides for the government school uniform and shoes assistance programme under Yayasan Sabah.

In a symbolic handing-over of the quality improved school uniforms at the Wisma Tun Fuad here yesterday, Jainab also made a call to Petronas to provide assistance to the programme so that it can be extended to government secondary schools.

Present at the press conference yesterday to handover the school uniforms to Jainab’s ministry were KOSAN deputy chairman Datuk Arshad Idris and general manager Salmah Mohd Noor.
