KOTA KINABALU: A 42-year-old man was fined RM25 in default two weeks in jail at the magistrates’ court here yesterday for exposing his body to a woman.

Syawaludin Dahlan pleaded guilty before magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie to the offence which he committed on Sept 30, this year at the Seri Keningau restaurant in Putatan.

He had pulled off his shirt and revealed his body to Aniza Ag Salleh, 30, which is an offence under Section 8(1)(e) of the Minor Offences Ordinance, liable to a fine of RM25 or 14 days’ imprisonment if found guilty upon conviction.

Based on the facts of the case, Aniza and a friend went to the restaurant for lunch.

She went to the self-service counter to ask for tissues to wipe a plate, when Syawaludin raised his shirt and exposed his abdomen to her, saying, “nanti aku lap guna baju aku” (I’ll wipe it later with my shirt).

As she had been disturbed by the incident, she later reported it to the police.
