Ronser, DLT Institute partners for farm technology

KUALA Lumpur-based Ronser Bio-Tech Sdn Bhd (Ronser) on Monday signed a joint venture with DLT Institute of Sarawak (DLT Institute) to collaborate on the usage of its newly developed world class technology called Mass Biosystem (MBS) for the latter’s empurau breeding farm near Kuching.

MBS is a biological system patented by Ronser’s Technical Advisor, Prof Zhang Zhen Jia of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), and is used in the removal of ammonia in waste water up to 1ppm (parts per million). Ronser chairman Woo Min Fong said that the technology will be integrated with technology from DLT Institute advisor Dr Elli Luhat in the breeding of empurau to commercialise the Green Aquaculture and Agriculture developed by SJTU.

 

Sarawak Cable on track to become Malaysia’s largest power cable supplier

Sarawak Cable Bhd (Sarawak Cable) is set to become the largest power cable supplier throughout Malaysia.AmResearch Sdn Bhd (AmResearch) in a report on Tuesday said the acquisition of Leader Cable Industries Bhd (LCIB) and Universal Cable (M) Bhd (UCMB) which is expected to be completed by this year end will enable SCable to control more than 50 per cent of the market share in the country.

 

Listing, overseas foray part of Senheng’s goals

Continuing its long list of successes, local appliances provider Senheng Electric (KL) Sdn Bhd is all set to expand its network overseas in addition to plans for listing on Bursa Malaysia soon. This was revealed by Lim Kim Heng, managing director of Senheng Electric (KL) Sdn Bhd in an exclusive interview with The Borneo Post recently.

 

Over 10,000 companies IN Sarawak register for GST

A total of 10,541 companies in Sarawak have registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as at Friday, Sarawak Royal Customs Department Senior Assistant Director Muhammad Furiman Hattar said.              He said the figure was closer to the target of 12,000 companies set by the department by December 31.

‘Mueller gets hardest airline job at MAS’

Christoph Mueller will embark on one of the toughest jobs in aviation, turning around an airline that has lost two jets and 537 lives this year.

The 52-year-old outgoing chief executive officer of Dublin-based Aer Lingus Group Plc has been named to lead Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) amid a slump in traffic and widening losses. He will need to restore confidence in the airline while cutting 6,000 jobs.

Malaysia’s palm oil export tax likely to remain zero next month

Palm oil exports from Malaysia, which waived a levy on shipments for the final four months of 2014, will probably remain duty-free in January as average prices stay below a threshold for a tax to be imposed.

 

MAS marks last trading day on Main Market at 26.5 sen, airline en route to recovery

KUCHING: Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) has ended its trading on the Main Market at 26.5 sen with 70.915 million lots changing hands, making it the most actively traded stock on Friday.

According to a filing on Thursday, MAS had announced that its counter will be suspended at December 15, 2014, to execute the company’s selective capital reduction and repayment exercise (SCR).

MAS shares will continue to be suspended until the completion of the SCR and subsequently, the delisting of MAS from the official list of Bursa Securities
