MELAKA: Three former nursery workers were charged in the Sessions Court here yesterday with seven counts of neglect and causing emotional injury to two babies and five toddlers under their care last May.
Muhaini Abdul Rasid, 21; Noor Amyliah Rosli, 27; and Rohaniah Zakaria, 21, claimed trial to committing the offences at Taska Khalifah Mama, Jalan Melawis 7, Bukit Beruang, here, from May 8 until May 28, between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. Their alleged victims were aged between seven and 31 months then.
The charge under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, carries a maximum fine of RM20,000 or imprisonment of not more than 10 years, or both, upon conviction.
Judge Jamaludin Mat set bail at RM7,000 with one surety for each charge, and Jan 19 for re mention.
