A local man was fined BND$2,250 or serve four months’ jail in default after he pleaded guilty before the Bandar Magistrate’s Court to consumption of Syabu and possession of utensils to consume drugs, Brudirect reported.
Md Awildrus Hj Idris was arrested in a parking booth at the Brunei International Airport by the Narcotics Control Bureau officers who suspected drugs activities in the area.
It was about 1500 hours on October 13, 2011 when the raid took place at the booth.
A flat bottom clear glass bottle with a plastic straw which tested positive for traces of meth was found.
The defendant was taken for investigations and his urine sample tested positive for the class A drug.
