SHAH ALAM: The magistrate’s court here yesterday transferred the case of four individuals, including a married couple, charged with attempting to give support to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group to the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

This followed a request by the prosecution, represented by deputy public prosecutor Afzainizam
Abdul Aziz.

However, no date was fixed.

Yesterday’s proceedings were held in separate magistrates’ courts, with the case involving Muhammad Fadhil Ibrahim, 24, and Nazhatulshima Sahak, 44, conducted before Magistrate Norshakinah Ahmad Kamarudin.

The case of the two other accused, Muhammad Na’eem Apandi, 24, and Amir Azlan Zainudin, 48, who is Nazhatulshima’s husband, came up before Magistrate Ellyana Razali.

All of them were charged with trying to give support to the terrorist group by purchasing flight tickets from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Istanbul, Turkey, and to enter Syria through Istanbul, for the benefit of the group.

The offence was allegedly committed at Restoran Hakim Sdn Bhd, Jalan Zirkon E7/E, Section 7 here at about 10.50 pm on Oct 13, 2014.

Afzainizam prosecuted in both the cases. — Bernama
