KUALA LUMPUR: Furniture industry players must intensify efforts in addressing the global business environment and market needs to enhance the industry’s competitiveness, Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said.
He said the Malaysian furniture industry had developed into a multibillion ringgit industry from its humble beginning in the 80s.
“This reflects the sheer determination and industrious spirit of local furniture entrepreneurs and the government will continue to facilitate its growth,” he said at the Malaysian Furniture Council’s inauguration dinner here last night. — Bernama
