KUCHING: A father-of-one was killed while servicing the bucket contraption of his lorry at home yesterday, after the heavy vehicle slipped off its jack and the device he was cleaning landed on top of him.

The 37-year-old deceased, surnamed Chin, was said to be working on the contraption of the seven-tonne lorry which he uses to transport gravel and earth, when the mishap happened around 3.30pm at his house at Mile 10 Kota Padawan.

According to sources, family members rushed outside hearing a loud thud and found Chin trapped underneath the bucket, when the lorry slipped.

They quickly jacked the lorry back up and rushed the victim to the Sarawak General Hospital where he
was pronounced dead after repeated attempts to resuscitate him failed.
