SEREMBAN: Two people were killed and three others injured in a five-vehicle collision at the north-bound 250km North-South Highway near here yesterday morning.

Ahmad Azlan Zakaria, 25, and his colleague, Mastura Abd Karim, 34, who were front and rear passengers in the Perodua Alza died on the spot. They sustained head injuries.

Seremban District Police Chief ACP Muhamad Zaki Harun said the bodies were sent to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital here.

He said the collision at 6.45am involved a Perodua Alza, Proton Saga, Nissan Almera and two trailer lorries.

He said the crash occurred when the Proton Saga driven by a man went out of control and collided with one of the trailer lorries ferrying 20 tonnes of lubricating oil.

“This caused the car to veer into the right lane. At the time, the Perodua Alza which was behind the Proton Saga tried to avoid it but rammed into the rear of another trailer lorry.

“At that juncture, the Nissan Almera which was behind them skidded and overturned in the middle lane about 100 metres from where the first crash had occurred,” added Muhamad Zaki.

He said a passenger in the Proton Saga sustained head injuries and was believed to have been dragged on the road, while the drivers of the Proton Saga and Perodua Alza sustained minor injuries.
