SIBU: A businessman who survived an attack in October was shocked to see a dead cat hanging in front of his house at Lada Road here yesterday.
Police arrived at the scene soon after receiving a call in the afternoon. There, they saw the animal being tied on its neck and hung on a steel rod near the front gate of the house.
Some of the passers-by managed to snap pictures of the dead cat – some of which eventually ended up as postings on social media such as Facebook.
The house owner, 39, claimed that one week after the October attack in Stabau, he received a phone threat from a stranger. Three weeks after that, he got that call again. Fearing for his safety, the victim went out of this town earlier this month but returned here on Wednesday using a rented car.
During the incident in October this year, a group of men attacked the victim, tying and blindfolding him before bringing him to a car. They later threw him into a river, but he managed to break free and survived the ordeal.
