SRI AMAN: A shophouse located in front of SK Saint Luke, Sri Aman was destroyed in a fire on Wednesday night.
In the around 9.15pm incident, the fire razed the shophouse comprising a residential unit on the first floor and a restaurant on the ground floor.
According to Sri Aman Fire Department (Bomba) chief Jilin Itar, three other shophouses were also burned but the fire was put out.
He said Bomba received a call from members of the public around 9.27pm and sent a fire engine with nine Bomba personnel and six personnel from the Civil Defence Force (JPAM).
“We put out the fire by 10.11pm and the loss has yet to be determined,” Jilin said.
All those staying in the shophouse escaped the fire.
Among other shops affected were an entertainment centre and a furniture store.
