KUCHING: Tang Shi Ying and Lai Chun Jie won the Best Achievement awards at UCSI’s Centre for Pre U Studies Award Day Sarawak Campus recently.
Tang, who intends to pursue her studies in Pharmacy, will take up the course at UCSI University Kuala Lumpur campus, while, Lai is considering the various options available for Actuarial Science.
The CPU Award Day is held at least twice a year for the purpose of honouring students who excel in their Pre U studies; Foundation studies and the GCE A-Level programme. At the same time, graduates of the English Enrichment Programme are also invited to receive their certificates of completion.
There were other awards presented during the event, including awards to the winners for Biology Group Showcase. Student representatives were also acknowledged for their works with fellow student and constructive feedback provided during the Annual Programme Review Meeting in November.
Aside from imparting of knowledge, the centre is also committed to equipping its students with communication and leadership skills which are much sought for in today’s graduates.
To ensure quality of its foundation programme, the centre for Pre-U studies has streamlined the foundation programme between its campuses and the centre is working towards the recognition of its foundation programme by top universities in the world.
The one-year Foundation Studies programme at UCSI University offers routes into various degree programmes such as Biotechnology, Food sciences, Pharmacy, Doctor of Medicine, Nursing, Engineering, Architecture, Psychology, Fashion Design, Mass Communication, Accounting and Finance, Hospitality Management, Event and Tourism Management, Commerce and many more.
