KAPIT: Some 30 members and friends from the Lions Club of Kapit turned up for its three-in-one annual gathering held at Happy Garden along Jalan Bletih here.

Organising chairman Stanley Ling Bee Chong of Lions in brief remarks welcomed all guests to the three-in-one gathering of ‘Pre-Christmas Party, New Year Day and Members’ Second Half of the Year Birthday Party’.

“Tonight was not just for Lions’ families, we also invited friends to our gathering for fellowship. 2014 is another fruitful year where many activities were carried out successfully and now as the year ends, it’s also time to renew our friendship and establish closer rapport among members of society who are our activities partner. Through this gathering, we congratulate ourselves for the activities well done and Lions Club takes the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to all of you,” said Stanley.

Meanwhile, president Lions Club of Kapit, Dato Yong Hua Sying, said this year has seen Kapit Lions pulling off the many activities in and around Kapit.

“The Lions Club couldn’t have undertaken so many activities successfully without the full commitment of all members and the very supportive community here. Of course all activities require funding and for that thanks to our ‘wakil rakyat’ especially the Minister of Land Development Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing and Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi. Also, kudos to all the government departments, NGOs and clubs especially Kapit Hospital and Kapit Health Department,” added Dato Yong.
