PORT DICKSON: Six men who lost their way while trekking in the jungle near the Tanjung Tuan Lighthouse here, were found safe by the rescue squad yesterday afternoon.

Teluk Kemang Fire and Rescue Station operation chief Zainal Leman said a five-member rescue squad was rushed to the scene after receiving the report about the missing men, who are employees of Selia Selenggara Sdn Bhd, at 1.44pm.

“Our team reached the scene at 2pm and immediately embarked upon a search for the victims, aged between 30 and 35.

“They were said to have entered the jungle earlier this morning and could not find their way out as the tide was rising,” he told Bernama when contacted.

He said the search was mounted with the help from 10 members of the police and Civil Defence Department (JPAM).

“One of the victim sustained a minor injury and was treated by the JPAM paramedics.

“All of them were then allowed to return home,” he added. — Bernama
