KUCHING: The  woman whose body was found wrapped in a comforter next to trash cans at Kota Sentosa bazaar last Thursday has been identified by family members at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) on Friday.

Family members identified her as Darwina, 30, who had just returned from Sabah for a holiday.

They told reporters  they were puzzled by the incident.

According to them, they last met Darwina on Wednesday night when she told them she wanted to meet someone.

“She was in town since Nov 27. A day before the news was published, she left home on foot after telling us that she was meeting someone.

“However she just disappeared, and when we  tried to reach her via her mobile phone, it was  switched off. We did not suspect anything until we read the news in the newspaper,” said the grieving family members.

They also said the woman, who was the youngest of four siblings, had been working in Sabah and would return home during festive seasons or days off.

“We are puzzled by this incident but we hope that the authority would investigate this case so that those responsible would be brought before the law,” they said.
