BERAKAS, BRUNEI-MUARA: Traders, small and medium entrepreneurs, SMEs and on-line business are currently promoting their products in a Back to School Charity Expo at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas, Brudirect reported.
The expo is jointly organised by the Kumpulan Bertindak Bantuan Kemanusiaan Katak Ijau (GreenFrog Humanitarian Action Group) and the Youth and Sports Department.
The expo was launched by the Permanent Secretary of Media and Cabinet at the Prime Minister’s Office, Awg Hj Md Rozan Dato Paduka Hj Md Yunos.
At the event, twenty students received schooling aid.
Five wheel-chairs were handed over to the head of Obstetric and Gynae Unit of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital, Dr Hjh Nur Azmah Abdullah.
The chairman of Kumpulan Bertindak Bantuan Kemanusiaan Katak Ijau, Awg Rozan Hj Kaderi presented a contribution amounting to BND$2,000 to the children Cancer Foundation (YASKA).
The event also saw the presentation of an appreciation plague to the president of Maxi Scooter Club from Kuala Belait, Awg Marzuki Hj Yusof for the club’s cooperation in the charity work organised by the Group Katak Ijau.
More than sixty entrepreneurs are taking part in the expo which is open to the public until January 4 next year.
The expo begins from 1000 in the morning until 2200 hours except on Friday from 1000 till 1145 in the morning and from 1400 hours until 2200 evening hours.
The expo is among other things aims to raise school fund for the underprivileged.
A number of side activities are also arranged such as colouring contest, cat show, Tamiya car race and blood donation campaign.
