KOTA BAHARU: The special sitting of the Kelantan Legislative Assembly for tabling of the Kelantan Syariah Criminal Code II or hudud scheduled this Monday (Dec 29) has been postponed to a date to be fixed later.
Kelantan Menteri Besar Kelantan Datuk Ahmad Yaakob said the decision was made following the worsening flood situation in the state.
“We will give a new date later,” he told reporters at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa here yesterday.
He was at the airport awaiting the arrival of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is on a visit to Kelantan to oversee the flood situation in the state.
Ahmad also declared tomorrow (Dec 20) a special holiday in Kelantan due to the flood situation in the state.
He also expressed his appreciation to all quarters involved in flood operations in the state. — Bernama
