DCA: No Bruneians on board missing AirAsia flight QZ8501

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: AirAsia Flight QZ8501 which was on a flight enroute from Surabaya to Singapore with one hundred and fifty five passengers and seven crew on board has lost contact or communication when it was flying over the airspace between Kalimantan and Belintung Island around 7.24am local time, Brudirect reported.

The airliner departed from the Juanda International Airport, Surabaya, Indonesia at 5.36am and was scheduled to arrive at Changi International Airport, Singapore at 8.30am local time.

Following the incident, the Civil Aviation Department of the Ministry of Communications informed that, the department has not received any information whether any citizen of Brunei Darussalam is on-board the flight.

The Civil Aviation Department together with other relevant agencies will continue to update any information from time to time regarding the list of passengers on board. The department also urged members of the public to avoid raising any speculations receive and spread any information via social media without any valid confirmation.
