KUALA LUMPUR: Two pilots and two crew on board a Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) Ecureuill AS 355F2 helicopter escaped with injuries when their helicopter crashed at Kampung Rambai, Tanah Merah, Kelantan, while sending flood relief supply at 6.30pm yesterday.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar who confirmed the incident said despite suffering injuries all four were safe.
“Thank God, the pilots and crew are safe,” he said when contacted, here yesterday.
According to a Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department spokesman, the four people on board the helicopter comprised three men and a woman.
All four who suffered injuries, three of them serious, have been sent to the Tanah Merah Hospital for treatment.
A witness said the helicopter was flying very low and heard a loud noise before the crash. — Bernama
