SIBU: Two men escaped after stealing money placed in a box in a temple at Mile 25 in Oya Road here at about 1.45pm yesterday.
The suspects had waited in a car outside before entering the temple.
A monk who suspected the men were up to no good followed them inside the temple.
He saw one of them opening the box containing the collection money and screamed to alert others in the temple.
They chased the two suspects but they managed to escape.
A report was lodged at Stapang Police Station.
