Pedestrian injured after hit by two vehicles

The motorcyclist who was knocked down by the Toyota Hilux lies on the roadside while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

MIRI: A pedestrian in his 40s suffered head injuries and was bruised on several parts of his body after being hit by two cars in an accident near Taman Bulatan here at about 7pm on Tuesday.

It is learnt that the driver of the first car hit the victim as he could not see clearly in the dark area.

The impact threw the victim to the opposite lane where an oncoming car hit him.

He was lucky to survive with light injuries only.

A team of paramedics from Miri Hospital rushed to the scene in an ambulance and brought the victim to hospital.

He was reported to be in stable condition.

In another accident at Jalan Pujut 2B at about 9am yesterday, three persons were injured when a Toyota Hilux hit a Perodua Myvi, turned turtle and then hit a motorcyclist.

The accident occurred when the Perodua Myvi was about to come out of Pujut 2B junction heading towards Pujut 3B, while the Toyota Hilux from Jalan Pujut 3 was heading towards Pujut-Miri Road. The motorcyclist from Pujut-Miri Road was heading towards Jalan Pujut 3.

The Hilux allegedly rammed the Perodua Myvi before turning turtle and knocking the oncoming motorcycle.

Two persons in the Hilux together with the motorcyclist were injured in the accident and they were taken to Miri Hospital, while the driver of the Myvi was not hurt.
