MIRI: Authorised dealers of Toyota range of vehicles, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd and Rimbunan Hijau Auto Services Sdn Bhd yesterday launched the all-new Toyota Hilux TRD Sportivo.

A sporty pick-up truck that caters for the young and young at heart, this 2015 Toyota Hilux model received improvements which refreshed its looks as well as lending a more premium feel with the additional enhancements like Daytime Running Light (DRL), leather seat upgrade for the 2.5G AT variants, among others.

The Toyota Hilux is undoubtedly Malaysia’s best-selling pick-up truck with over 180,000 units of the current generation sold since its launch in Malaysia in 2005.

Since its first production in 1968, the quality, durability and reliability of the Hilux have been recognised all over the world and it has won many awards. In Malaysia, it has won awards for being the best pick-up truck from various organisations and publications.

The TRD Sportivo variants consist of 3.0G TRD Sportivo (AT) and 2.5G TRD Sportivo (AT).

TRD, being the high-performance arm of Toyota, has developed the TRD bodykit specially for the Hilux which adds sportiness to the looks and provides more distinctive differentiation from the other variants.

Besides the exclusive bodykit, the TRD Sportivo package also comes with Daytime Running Lights on the TRD front bumper spoiler, black alloy rims, TRD combination leather upholstery, carbon fiber cubic printing on the instrument panel and door armrest panels, and TRD carpet mats. Hilux TRD Sportivo customers can also have an optional TRD sports bar installed at the back of the cab. Developed by TRD, the sports bar is made of strong yet lightweight ABS material.

Optional accessory for the TRD Sportivo include the optional 7-inch touchscreen DVD-AVN system that doubles as a reverse camera.

Besides the usual audio feature, this system now interfaces with smartphones (Android and iOS) via Bluetooth or WiFi connection; where the user can browse the Internet or search information on the screen once the AVN system connects and uses the smartphone as hotspot.

As with most models offered by UMW Toyota Motor, the Hilux comes with a 3-year/100,000 kms (whichever occurs earlier after first registration) warranty. This reflects the confidence that UMW Toyota Motor has in the superior build quality of its vehicles.

In connection with this launch, in Miri, both UMW Toyota Motor Miri branch and Rimbunan Hijau Auto Services will hold a three-day launching (Jan 9-11) in their respective showrooms.
