SRI AMAN: The Dayaks must change their mindset in order to achieve progress.

Assistant Minister of Housing Datuk Francis Harden Hollis believed that it was crucial for themy to move fast, on par with other communities, in bringing development not only for themselves, but also for the whole nation.

“Change of mindset is important if the Dayaks want to be as developed as other races. In modern days, we need to explore different fields rather than just depending on one,” the Simanggang assemblyman said during a dinner with Taman Nanang and Munggu Sabun Village Security and Development Committees (JKKKs) recently.

He said the Dayaks should follow the example of the Chinese and Malays, the majority of whom are very successful in business.

Later, Harden announced a combined allocation worth RM8,000 to both JKKKs at the function, which also saw Sri Aman MP Masir Kujat, Sri Aman Women’s Bureau chairperson Rebecca Sambai and local community leaders attending.
