SEREMBAN: Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin yesterday asked the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) and the Malaysian Athletic Federation (MAF) to convene a meeting immediately and discuss the organising of the Malaysian International Marathon (MIM) 2015.

He said this was because OCM and MAF should not be fighting over one sporting event. “So, I’m asking them to talk it over nicely and to find a win-win solution for this situation.

“I want them to set aside their personal issues and discuss on how to ensure success of the event,” Khairy told reporters after attending the flagging off the convoy to help flood victims in the east coast states by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan here.

The convoy comprised over 300 volunteers from the Negeri Sembilan Administrative and Diplomatic Officers Association, Negeri Sembilan Umno and Rasah Camp Territorial Army.

Khairy said this in response to OCM’s decision to host the MIM on May 23-24 at the Batu Kawan Stadium in Penang even without being sanctioned by the MAF as the governing body of athletics. — Bernama
