CYBERJAYA: The Education Ministry and the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate (LPM) were verified to have taken all necessary measures in handling public examinations in the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he was told about this at the preliminary briefing concerning the investigation on the leak in the examination papers of 2014 Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) by the independent committee to review the handling of public examinations management chairman Tun Zaki Azmi end of last year.

“At the preliminary stage, he (Zaki) said, overall, it was not so serious. Many aspects were adhered to by the ministry and LPM, but there are certain areas that they (committee) are still investigating.”

He said this at a media conference after making an observation on the first day of schooling for the 2015 session at Sekolah Kebangsaan Cyberjaya and Sekolah Menengah Cyberjaya, here today.

Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, said the committee was expected to submit the full report of the UPSR leak investigation and recommendations to improve public examinations soon.

“We are now waiting for the report and the recommendations and we will scrutinise them before putting them into effect,” he said.
