KUCHING: The Wind Cave and Fairy Cave Nature Reserves near Bau, some 40km from here is closed to public with immediate effect until further notice, due to the flood at its surrounding area.
Sarawak Forestry in a statement yesterday said the flood, caused by the continuous rainfall and overflow of the nearby river, had damaged the facilities and plank walk at the sites.
“For safety reasons and to allow repair works and clearing up of the nature reserves, the sites are closed to the public and Sarawak Forestry apologises for any inconvenience occured due to the temporary closure.
“Sarawak Forestry will announce the re-opening of the nature reserves after the completion of rectification works, or when these sites are deemed safe for the public,” added the statement. — Bernama
