KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Berhad yesterday issued its third philatelic series and products on herbal plants, in conjunction with its first stamp series for 2015.

Pos Malaysia group chief executive officer, Datuk Iskandar Mizal Mahmood said the stamp collection went on sale yesterday.

He said the issue among others was aimed at creating awareness among the people on local herbal plants and to stimulate interest on these plants among stamp enthusiasts.

“This is the third Pos Malaysia stamp series on herbal plants with the first and second series issued in 1998 and 2004,” he told reporters here yesterday.

The stamp collection includes mini brochures on four types of herbal plants – Misai Kucing (Orthosiphon stamineus Benth), Hempedu Bumi (Andrographis paniculata), Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) and Belalai Gajah (Clinacanthus Nutans).

Iskandar Mizal said the stamps measuring 30mm x 40mm are available from 60 sen to 80 sen per piece while the mini brochure measuring 100mm x 70mm on Belali Gajah plant and the accompanying stamp are available at RM3 each set.

The first-day cover can be obtained at 50 sen a piece or RM2.60 with a set of stamps, RM3.50 with a brochure set and a folder set is available at RM6.00 while a complete set is sold RM57.10.
