KUCHING: Nostalgic football fans may be excited to learn that long-time Sarawak sports apparel manufacturer LEA Sports Centre (LSC) are considering reproducing past kits of the state team.

LEA Holdings managing director Raymond Sim Hee Pang admitted that there have been many such requests from fans.

“We are looking at the possibility of reproducing them as we think that the demands by the fans are encouraging. We would love to reproduce them too,” he added.

He revealed that classic kits of the 1992 season when the Crocs won the FA Cup and the 1998 season when they won the Charity Cup are the ones most requested.

LSC, he said, believe the timing is right for such a move with the growth of football kit collectors in the country.

The state team have used various sports international brands for their apparel (which are supplied by LSC) including Diadora, Adidas, Rossi, and Lotto in the past.

The Crocs were also known to have worn Puma kits in the 1980s during the era of Ngap Sayot and Awang Mahyan.

Sarawak’s home colours are primarily red and black with white as a secondary colour while blue or yellow are the primary colours for away matches.

Sim is proud that LSC, which have been the designated apparel supplier since 1991, have played a significant part in the state team’s history.

“LSC stuck with the team through thick and thin as we have always believed in the Crocs.

“As a Sarawakian company, we will always be with the team no matter what and shall continue to support the Crocs forever,” he pledged.

The Crocs launched their kits for the 2015 season at a local shopping mall last Sunday.
