MARAN: The contractors appointed to build houses for the flood victims in the state must discharge their responsibility with full dedication, reminded the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

He said the contractors appointed must have wide experience to ensure the quality of the houses built, even though the deadline for the completion of the houses had been set within 75 days by the government.

“The houses built should not be tilting within three months. I hope such things will not happen in Pahang,” he said in his address at the royal ‘gotong-royong’ program to repair the people’s homes which were affected by the floods in Maran and Bera, here yesterday.

Tengku Abdullah pointed out that he would personally monitor developments in the house reconstruction works in the state and would not hesitate to track down officers who failed to discharge their responsibility properly.
