KUCHING: Sarawak head coach Robert Alberts is hoping that Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) will submit a request for a change to two fixtures of the new Super League season in the fasting month to Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

The two matches are away to Terengganu on June 20 and Pahang on June 27.

According to Alberts, Sarawak would be pressured because they had to play two matches away within a week against strong teams.

“This is unfair to the players because they have to play two matches in a week in their opponents’ home ground,” he said.

Furthermore, the fixtures will also cause inconvenience to the Crocs fans as they have to travel to two different stadiums in a week.

The Crocs have another match in the fasting month where they will take on Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) on July 4.

However, Alberts is relieved that there are only five matches scheduled for October instead of eight matches in the earlier schedule.

“There is a little bit of good news here as our players do not have to play eight matches in that month,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Crocs will travel to Semenanjung Malaysia to play three friendly matches as part of the preparations for the new season.
