MIRI: The organiser of this year’s ‘Cheongsam Beauty Search’ is urging the participants to submit their entries as soon as possible as the closing date draws near.
According to Permy Mall’s marketing and communications executive Priscilla Andrew, her side has received only two completed entries for the pageant so far, which is held in conjunction with the mall’s coming Chinese New Year Bazaar.
“Quite a number of our entry forms were taken up since early this month but we have only received two completed entries so far. Many have yet to confirm their participation.
“The date is drawing near and we are urging those interested to submit their entries before the closing date of Jan 30,” she said yesterday, adding that the audition for the pageant would be on Jan 31.
The two submitted entries, Priscilla added, were for Category A – namely for girls aged between seven and 12.
“Category B is open to young women aged between 18 and 30, while Category C is for those aged 31 and 45. All categories are open to Malaysians of all races, as well as those from Brunei.”
She pointed out that the Jan 31 audition would run from 2pm to 4pm at the ground floor of Permy Mall, adding that those making the cut then would be required to attend the preview on Feb 14 – the eve of the grand finals.
For the Category A, the winner will walk away with prizes worth RM250, while the first and second runner-up will receive prizes worth RM200 and RM150, respectively. Each will also receive a trophy.
For Category B and C, each of the crowned queens will bag prizes worth RM600, while prizes worth RM400 and RM200 await those placing second and third, respectively.
All the top three ladies of both categories will each be presented with the pageant sash.
Moreover, the ‘Best Talent Award’ offering a trophy and prizes worth RM150 will be given to a worthy contestant from each category.
Another subsidiary title, ‘Best Cheongsam Award’, offering a trophy and prizes worth RM100, will also be presented.
