IPOH; MIC vice-president Datuk M Saravanan has claimed that third parties are preventing party president Datuk Seri G Palanivel from meeting his deputy Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam to resolve the internal crisis the Barisan Nasional (BN) component is grappling with.

Not wanting to disclose any names, he said the mastermind had his own selfish agenda.

“I don’t think Datuk Seri Palanivel wants to challenge the Registrar of Societies (ROS) or any thing like that, I feel there are third parties involved … I know their names but I am not willing to say, but there is a mastermind behind,” he told reporters after launching a chilli planting project undertaken by Yayasan Gerakan Tindakan Afirmatif Baharu (NAAM) in Lim Garden here yesterday.

He said it was time the president, deputy president and division heads worked as a team to resolve the crisis.

On Dec 5, the ROS had ordered MIC to hold fresh elections for its three vice president and 23 Central Working Committee seats within 90 days after finding irreguralities in the party’s polls at its annual general meeting in Melaka on Nov 30, 2013.

The NAAM foundation is Saravanan’s brainchild. — Bernama
