Drug seller plunge into river and died

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: A man suspected as drug dealer plunged into the river and died after being chased by the Drug Investigation Division of South Kalimantan Regional Police, Antaranews reported.

“The perpetrator was selling two grams of crystal methamphetamine. When about to be caught he ran and plunged into the river,” said Deputy Director of South Kalimantan Police Narcotics Investigation AKBP Jimmy Anas Sik in Banjarmasin on Monday.

Not only that, the perpetrator who was known as AK (60), when about to be arrested on Monday (26/1) afternoon around 13:00, escaped by passing into resident’s home in Teluk Kelayan.

Knowing the police still pursuing him, the perpetrator panicked and ran through the kitchen and into the jamban (toilet on the river). After that, through a large hole the actor throw himself into the river.

When the appeared on the surface of the river he was persuaded by officers get to the mainland, but he did not care and dive back.

About 20 minutes later, the perpetrators come to the surface with a pale face and limp assisted by residents with the police immediately evacuated and taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital.
