AMUNTAI, South Kalimantan: Chief Representative of Bank Indonesia (BI) South Kalimantan, Hari Murti Gunawan, said the circulation of counterfeit money rampant on the island of Java has also been up in the district of North Hulu Sungai or HSU.

“Community of HSU should be more careful in money transaction by doing 3D, namely seen, touched and scanned,” said Hari on Tuesday.

If not scrutinized, it is quite difficult to distinguish between genuine with counterfeit money, because the perpetrators use counterfeiting techniques with increasingly sophisticated ways.

Today, he informs, circulation cases have occurred in the HSU, so residents in the area are asked to remain vigilant and cautious in the transaction, even though the money earned from banking institutions.

“Sometimes counterfeit bills could slip through a bank officer. Costumer still have to be careful and meticulous while transactions in banking,” said Day, through a press release.

BI requires each bank to provide a detector in form of ultra violet light which is usually placed at the teller.
