SIBU: A lorry driver suffered injuries on his face when he crashed into two cars at Salim Road here yesterday.

It is believed that the victim was attempting to avoid knocking down a motorcyclist in front of him during the 7am incident.

The impact of the collision shattered the glass windows of the lorry, injuring the man’s face.

The occupants of the other two cars were unhurt.

The lorry driver was rushed to Sibu Hospital in an ambulance, but his condition was not serious.

Meanwhile, a middle-aged man lost his four-wheel drive (4WD) in an incident last Monday.

The 50-something made a stop at his house near Mile 12 Oya Road here at 8am and went inside, leaving his 4WD vehicle outside with the engine still running.

It was then that he saw two strangers approached his house in another pick-up.

“One of them went out and drove away my vehicle. I tried to chase them but to no avail,” he told Sibu police.
