KUCHING: Tourism Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg has suggested that local authorities in the state consider using KEEEN’s bioremediation agent to promote a cleaner and liveable environment.

He said bioremediation allows natural processes to clean up harmful chemicals in the environment and as such the product should be useful in places such as markets and eating outlets that produce high levels of liquid discharge.

Abang Johari, who is also Housing Minister, said the product is also suitable for car and motorcycle repair shops to treat gasoline and other oil spills.

“I recommend the use of this product because it promotes a clean and liveable city,” he said at the launch of KEEEN’s products at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here yesterday.

“I therefore thank the distributor for Malaysia and Brunei, PJ Energy Services (M) Sdn Bhd, for participating in this exhibition,” he added.

The exhibition was held in conjunction with the International Energy Week 2015 held at BCCK from Jan 27 to today.

Meanwhile, Datuk Bandar of Kuching North (DBKU) Datuk Abdul Wahap Abang Julai who was also present at the launch told The Borneo Post that they would seriously consider using the technology.

“It sounds interesting and we will go for it. What is more important is we want to create a clean, healthy and beautiful environment,” he said.
