Sarawak receives new batch of teachers

KUCHING: The state recently received a reinforcement of DG41-grade teachers – 503 for secondary schools while 1,930 will be posted to primary schools.

In a statement, the state Education Department said the secondary school teachers will be placed in 167 schools including 10 schools in the rural areas while 459 j-QAF teachers and 1,472 other teachers will serve in 1,032 government primary schools and 220 Chinese aided schools.

The new teachers are graduates from local institutions of higher learning and twinning programmes, and Teachers’ Training Institutes nationwide.

In addition, three teachers will be posted to selected schools in the state to teach German and French, the statement added.

The statement also said the Education Ministry through the state Education Department hoped that the new teachers would carry out their responsibilities with full dedication and commitment in line with the battle cry ‘Fly Kenyalang Fly, Fly High’, wherever they serve.
