SIBU: Two shopping complexes here were yesterday shot at though the exact time of the shooting incident has not been ascertained.
No casualties were reported.
The complexes are located near Sanyan Road and Kampung Nyabor Road.
Sibu police chief ACP Mohd Kamal Kordi assured the public that the police were beefing up safety measures.
The shots were believed to have been fired from a vehicle at the roadside.

A security guard of the complex near Sanyan Road said he heard a loud thud at 8.30am but did not sense anything amiss.
His colleague saw glass shards on the floor outside the building at 10.50am, and upon checking, found gunshot marks on a pole, wall and glass panel.
Three cartridges were found on the floor.
Evidence of the shooting at the complex near Kpg Nyabor Road was discovered yesterday afternoon.
A glass panel of a boutique in the complex and a tree branch nearby were believed to have been hit.
