67 PBS Youth branches receive sports equipment

TAMBUNAN: A total of 67 branches of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Youth received assistance in the form of sports equipment from Deputy Chief Minister cum Infrastructure Development Minister, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan here yesterday.

The handing over of the assistance by Pairin, who is also Keningau Member of Parliament, was held at the sports complex here in conjunction with the Joint Youth and Sabah Artists Relax program organized by PBS Tambunan Youth Movement.

Earlier, the Tambunan Assemblyman’s arrival to the sports complex was welcomed by the committee members of the PBS youth, led by its Chief, Rocky Jerome.

During the program, Pairin also presented assistance in the form of cash donations to a charity body and clubs in the district.

The Bondulu Children’s Home in Toboh received contributions totaling RM11,000 from the collection from the public.

Also receiving fund assistance from Tambunan youth movement was the Zumba Fitness Club Tambunan, Tambunan Fishing Club and Tambunan Motorcycle club, where each received RM500.

Among the events held during the program was a visit to the Bondulu Children’s Home, Badminton and Futsal Friendly match between Tambunan Youth and Sabah Artists, Zumba Fitness performances, performance by Sabah artists, lucky draws, football match between Tambunan artists and Sabah artists, football match between Tambunan youth and PBS youth movements and football match between Lintuhun FC and Sabah artists.

About 1,000 people including District Officer, Thomas Lojigin, Tambunan PBS Vice Chief, Datuk Lawrence Gimbang, Political Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Welfredoline Jakil, Infrastructure Development Ministry Public Relation Secretary, Basal Datuk Bullah, Tambunan Community Development Leader, Silverius Bruno, Keningau Parliamentary Liaison officer, Augustine Nain, PBS leaders and government officials.
