KUCHING: A disabled 16-year-old boy is in need of public donation to help meet his nutritional need.

According to Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan in a press release yesterday, he received a letter of request from Sarawak General Hospital, which was handed over by the boy’s parent.

The hospital hoped Hope Place could sponsor this boy’s dependence on ‘Ensure’ milk powder. But currently, Hope Place has no stock of this type of expensive milk powder. The boy, Lau Paul Laok, is also in need of adult XL size diapers.

Since two weeks ago, he has been lacking nutrition until he was not able to sit up. A doctor mentioned that he needed Ensure milk powder to support his nutritional needs. Ensure milk powder (850gm) is priced at around RM60 per can and the lad consumes four cans a month. Anyone wishing to sponsor this teenager’s milk diet is welcome to call Hope Place at 013-567 2775.

Hope Place is an NGO that visits the poor and less fortunate families to contribute essential food items like rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, biscuits, and noodles. Hope Place carries out its aid deliveries once every two months because of the many families on the recipients list. Currently, it supports more than 100 families.

Those interested to make a donation, do request for a receipt from the staff at Hope Place.
