Musical concert on business sustainability tomorrow at RH Hotel

SIBU: RH Education (RHE), a subsidiary of Rimbunan Hijau Education Group, will stage a musical concert on business sustainability tomorrow from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at RH hotel here.

RHE is privileged to announce new partner Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore as its supporting knowledge partner to help promote business sustainability in Sarawak.

The Dean of the University’s Nanyang Business School, Professor Ravi Kumar, will introduce to the audience the concept of business sustainability and how it affects the community.

RH Academy Sdn Bhd managing director Prisa Leong told a press conference yesterday afternoon that Dama Orchestra would perform to bring through the different generations of songs from pre Baby boomers (before 1945); Baby Boomers (after 1950) X Generation (1960s and X Generations (1990s).

She said the show would inspire entrepreneurs, parents, school principals, counsellors and students to consider the need to change the human resources sustainably.

“We need knowledgeable and skilled people to help our community better manage these resources to ensure our community continues to thrive in many generations to come,” she pointed out.

Admission for the event is free but by tickets obtainable at RH Hotel Jasmine Ballroom reception counter today, 7pm to 9pm.

Meanwhile, Leong said throughout this year, RH Education and NTU would partner to organise a series of talks throughout Sarawak.

She said it was Rimbunan Hijau Education Group’s vision that, business communities in Sarawak would recognise and practise sustainable businesses to uphold the legacies of their corporations and family businesses.

“Sarawak is fortunately endowed with rich natural resources, it is us who consume these resources and the responsibility is upon us to ensure that these resources are managed sustainably. We need knowledgeable and skilled people to help our community better manage these resources to ensure our community continues to thrive in many generations to come,” she added.

Leong also announced effective this year, RHE would award five scholarships for students to study in NTU every year, with each scholarship worth SGD10,000.

Qualified students have the choice of reading Business, Engineering or Humanities, Arts or Social Sciences at NTU.

RHE, she said, recognised and appreciated the contribution from the community in the success of its business.

“With the award of these scholarships to our students, the Group hopes the students can contribute back to society upon completion of their studies. Interested students may contact RHE for details of the awards,” she stated.

RHE was established last year to promote the education of business sustainability amongst small and medium corporations and family businesses in Sarawak.

It hopes to achieve its objectives in helping business communities in Sarawak in moving toward a sustainable future.
