Puspakom extends operating hours, increases staff for CNY period

SHAH ALAM: Puspakom Sdn Bhd (Puspakom) will extend its operating hours in several branches and increase the number of its vehicle inspection staff to meet the expected increase in demand during the Chinese New Year festive season.

Its chief executive officer, Mohammed Shukor Ismail said the move would ensure the vehicles would be inspected before the long festival holiday.

“Extending the operating hours is part of Puspakom’s efforts to provide better service to the higher number of vehicles which will come for inspection during the period,” he said in a statement here yesterday.

Mohammed Shukor said the operating hours would be extended from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday Feb 7 and Feb 14 in Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Bangi, Batu Caves, Sungai Besar, Padang Jawa, Banting, Glenmarie and Jalan Tandang in Selangor. Similarly, the operating hours would also be extended in its branches in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan; Mak Mandin and Teluk Kumbar, Penang; Gopeng and Ipoh in Perak; Alor Gajah, Melaka; Johor Baharu, Pasir Gudang, Skudai, Taman Daya and Muar in Johor; Kuantan, Pahang; Alor Setar and Sungai Petani in Kedah, Kuching, Sarawak; and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Meanwhile, the Puspakom branches in Pandan Mewah, Glenmarie, Jalan Tandang and Bangi, Selangor; Batu Maung, Penang; Ipoh, Perak; and Pekan, Pahang would be operating on Sunday, Feb 8 and 15 from 8 am to 5 pm for special inspection, transfer inspection, hire purchase inspection and voluntary vehicle inspection, he said.

Mohammed Shukor urged the public to make appointments for their vehicle inspections by calling the nearest Puspakom branches.
