LIMBANG: The remaining nine matches of last year’s Limbang Soccer league have to be postponed because the Limbang Sports Complex soccer field, the only suitable venue for the tournament is water-logged.
President of the Limbang Football Association (LFA) Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail when contacted said the Public Works Department (PWD) should investigate on the drainage system at the field.
“We fear that there is problem with the drainage system at the soccer field at the Limbang Sports Complex.
The rainy weather is beyond our control but we hope that PWD will investigate and find solution to the water-logged field otherwise the Limbang League 2014 can only resume in March when the weather improve,” he said.
Dr. Rahman who is also ADUN Bukit Kota Limbang urged the participating teams and soccer fans to be patient, adding that Limbang League 2015 will only be held middle of this year, once the 2014 series have been completed.
