First Drive-Thru SugarBun concepts in Malaysia launched

SIBU: The first SugarBun Drive-Thru concept in Malaysia, the SugarBun Ulu Oya Sibu, was yesterday launched and officiated by guest of honour Sibu Municipal Council Chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King.

Located at Jalan Ulu Oya Sibu, the double-storey Stand-Alone (9,333 sq ft) SugarBun is the 59th SugarBun Restaurant in Sarawak.

Executive director of SB Franchise Management Sdn Bhd Raymond Teo and Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism (MDTCC) Sibu branch head Kasim Mana, and SugarBun franchise operator Datuk William Ngu were present.

SugarBun Ulu Oya with 230 seats is uniquely designed with trendy, modern and stylish concept. The striking, yet warm inviting colors is said to be the latest talk in Sibu.

The restaurant has also incorporates a modern Kiddy Wonderland on its first floor (closed every Monday for sanitisation).

“One of our strategies is to provide an ambience that let families spend quality time together,” William told members of media, adding that customers can enjoy their meals while their kids are having fun at the Kiddy Wonderland.

He said the Drive-Thru provides busy customers with convenience in that they just have to drive in to the designated lane, order, make payment, and then collect their meals.

Meanwhile, in conjunction with the grand opening, the restaurant offers a monthly Lucky Draw from 8th March to 8th August on each purchase of RM50.00 and above in a single receipt. The draw is to be held on 8th of every month at 8pm.

The Grand prize is a Perodua Axia. Other prizes are LG Washer, LG LED TV 42”, Samsung Smartphone, Samsung Fridge, iPhone 6, and SugarBun Cash Vouchers. More detail can be obtained from the counter.

Among the delicacies offered by the restaurant are Western meals of SugarBun Hero products, Broasted Chicken and Hot & Spicy Chicken, plus a wide range of Asian Cuisines like Sambal Eco-Fish, Chicken Mushroom Claypot, Chicken Curry, Broasted Kano Meal with choices of Pedas and Satay sauce, and Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken.

Its Coffee Bar has hot & cold beverages like Latte, Ice Crushed, specialty coffee and tea.

Ice cream at RM1.50 per serving is available in 3 different flavors – Vanilla, Chocolate, and Twist (mixture of vanilla & chocolate.

To usher in the Chinese New Year celebration, they are launching the Prosperity Meals Promotion with complimentary ‘SB Angpow’ packets for purchase of RM22.00 and above in a single receipt; a purchase of which must include at least one Prosperity Meal.

Prosperity Meals consist of three types: Fish & Savoury Rice, Fish & Chips and Fish & Broasted Chicken with Savoury Rice.

Fish & Savoury Rice and Fish & Chips meals are only RM10.00 per meal, while Fish & Broasted Chicken with Savoury Rice is only RM12.30 per meal.

SugarBun Ulu Oya Drive-Thru also hosted 100 children from the Sibu Methodist Children’s Home to a hearty meal during the grand opening. The happy children were also given angpows by the management.
