MIRI: Fed up with ‘sniffing’ filthy wastes for the past 10 years, a Kampung Senadin Jaya resident wants the authority concerned to shift two rubbish bins in front of his house elsewhere.

Francis Chia claimed he had tried in vain many times to get the bins, meant for the use of 10 houses, relocated.

With nowhere else to go, he approached Piasau assemblyman Alan Ling for help.

“Foul smell and flies are not only health hazards but they also make the area very smelly, especially during the monsoon season,” he told Ling on Saturday.

Ling said the authority concerned should have resolved the problem a long time ago as the matter concerned public health.

In urging the local council to get it right this time, Ling, who is also state DAP secretary, said: “I was shocked to see the rubbish bins in front of the house.”
