MIRI: Orang Ulus can be successful in business if they follow the footsteps of the Chinese business community who are focussed and committed to succeed.

In saying this, Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau cited Chinese businessmen such as the directors of Shin Yang, Samling and Interhill Directors as examples of ordinary workers who worked hard and achieved success.

“We must learn from the Chinese community regarding business and must inculcate self commitment and focus in any business to be successful,” he said at the closing ceremony of the two-day Entrepreneurial Development Programme organised by 1M Sarawak at Telang Usan Hotel here on Sunday.

Over 30 Orang Ulu entrepreneurs took part in the programme.

He reminded the participants never to give up but persevere no matter how hard and challenging the business environment is as success will come later as long as they have a goal.

He also urged them to build teamwork, be good leaders and be steadfast in making crucial decisions to earn respect from their staff.

“How firm you are, you must earn respect from your workers and the people you are dealing with in business,” he elaborated.

Meanwhile, he urged more Orang Ulus to take up cottage industry and small-medium enterprises (SMEs).
