BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: By Command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister’s Office hereby announces that His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to the appointment new Speaker of Legislative Council (LegCo), Brudirect reported.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abd Rahman Dato Setia Hj Md Taib as Speaker to the Legislative Council to replace Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Hj Awg Isa Pehin Datu Perdana Manteri Dato Laila Utama Hj Awg Ibrahim.
The date of the said appointment will take effect from Wednesday, 21 Rabiulakhir, 1436H corresponding to February 11, 2015.
