Former Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, 84, passed away at home in Pulau Melaka, Kota Bahru at 9.40pm tonight.
The PAS spiritual leader passed away weeks after he had been readmitted to hospital due to ailing health. He had been suffering from prostate cancer.
Nik Aziz led the Kelantan PAS government for 23 years before he stepped down from office in 2013. He was succeeded by Datuk Ahmad Yaakob.
