Liow ready to meet Ismail Sabri over boycott call

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai is ready to meet Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who wants to clarify his statement on traders who refuse to reduce the price of goods.

The meeting would be held in the interest of unity among the various races in the country, said Liow, who is also transport minister.

He   disclosed  this   after  opening a national road safety campaign held in conjunction with  the Chinese  New Year  at the  South  Integrated  Terminal in Bandar  Tasik Selatan yesterday.

Recently, Ismail Sabri in a statement called on the people to boycott traders who refused to reduce the price of goods.

On Wednesday, he said he would hold a meeting with Liow to clarify his statement.

Ismail Sabri said the meeting was expected to be held before the Chinese New Year to ensure the issue was resolved amicably. — Bernama
