LAWAS: Teras Ba Kelalan youth is chipping in to support the SIB Hosana Revival Centre development project at Mount Murud to make it both a spiritual and tourist destination.

Its chief Stevenson Satu Buas on Wednesday said the centre’s run-down hostel requires an upgrade and other facilities needed to be added in to make the centre a comfortable place, which would require funding.

The centre, he said, would not only be a centre for prayers by the Christian community but a place to produce human capital who are spiritually guided in line with the government’s aspiration to have such kind of human resource to propel the state’s and country’s growth and progress.

“We see integrity and transparency in the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem who wants resilience and integrity, with concern for the environment and conservation,” he added.

The church camp at Mount Murud is a retreat for Christians from Brunei, Singapore and other foreign countries for prayer and meditation and to seek spiritual nourishment.

Dubbed as a ‘Prayer Mountain’, it gets chilly at night. However, it only has spartan accommodation facilities.

Stevenson believes their undertaking will have the blessings of party president Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom, who is also Social Development Minister.

Meanwhile, Teras Ba Kelalan youth will also be focusing on other social and welfare activities for Ba Kelalan youths.

“We want to offer them the platform to be involved in activities instead of being bystanders,” he said.
